The 2nd Annual Ski Lift to Safety event was held February 5th at Vista Ridge Ski Hill to promote safety on the hill. Skiers and snowboarders were able to visit a variety of safety & wellness specialists and could get their equipment engraved and checked, helmets fitted, and get information on brain injury, concussions, ski patrol, and safety on the hill.
Over 100 people participated in the event and :
- 89 helmets fitted (47 fit properly, 42 required adjustments)
- 55 pieces of equipment were engraved
- 71.4% indicated they learned new ways to stay safe
- 95.2% believe it’s important to wear safety gear like helmets and wrist guards
- 95.2% believe a properly fitted helmet can reduce the risk of injury.
Feedback from participants included “it was fun and interactive,” “child friendly,” “awesome,” “very informative,” and “fun to learn this stuff.”
Next year we look forward to expanding this program to include outside events and contests.
Thank you to everyone who participated and we encourage you to stay safe on the hill this year!
