Safety is important during all holidays, but especially Christmas.  On behalf of Safe Community Wood Buffalo we wish  you a safe and festive  holiday!

Holiday Safety Contest

Decorating a tree with lights is a tradition at Christmas time.  Unwrap the above gifts to find the answer to the following contest question…..What is the maximum number of mini light strands that can be connected together? E-mail your answer to wbsafecommunity@shaw.ca or enter the draw box at your school.

Prepare your car for winter driving

TIRES
Make sure you have winter tires.  Winter tires are designed to push snow to the side. All tires should be inflated to values on rim of tire.

FLUIDS
Check all fluid levels to ensure they are at the maximum levels. This includes: gas line anti-freeze washer & coolant.

KIT
Always travel with an emergency travel kit. Some essentials are: shovel, matches, candles, blankets, first aid kit & cables.

VIEW
Before travelling in your car, make sure all windows are clear of snow and frost. Fix any cracks in the windshield that interfere with line of sight!

Watch out for holiday plants!

Plants such as Mistletoe, English Holly, and English Ivy are poisonous for both people and animals. Keep out of reach and up high.

Some plants are dangerous to touch. They can be sharp or give others a rash.
